Hi!

I've been slowly getting into the anime scene for, well, most of my life. Discovered ArmiTunes about a year ago and haven't streamed anything else since then!

But I can't take it with me Cry

So, looking for recommendations on how to start building my own library of anime/game tunes, specifically good sources to get music from.

I see some stuff available on Amazon, but is it reasonably priced? As well, product descriptions are hit/miss so not always clear what you're getting.

I could look for torrents but I do want to support the artists/publishers to some extent.

I expect I'll end up downloading some things and buying albums here and there of the stuff I really like and want to support.

Any good online services where I can buy anime MP3s/albums without having to order physical CDs and pay shipping?

Thanks all

I've used play.com to buy CDs lately. Their selection certainly doesn't cover everything (even with playtrade), but I've still managed to buy a lot anime/jpop CDs from there.

I also asked my coworker to buy some CDs while he's in Japan. Can't wait for him to get back. Big Grin

I wish I'd known a lot more about anime when I was in Japan 5 yrs ago ~sigh.

Thanks!

Well, as far as downloading some songs, I use Gendou's site at http://gendou.com/ or Nyaa Torrents at http://www.nyaatorrents.org/

I don't have an ipod, so I don't do itunes, so I don't know how much stuff is available through that service. Can anyone shed some light on that?

Unless I can buy the individual MP3's at a reasonable price in the US, I don't mind just down loading it. Some artists actually have releases over here, then I'd support that and buy the album. Only thing is I don't like paying over $20 for a CD with only 2 songs I like. Ya know. Try CD Japan at http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/

Also, I "think" some artist's websites might allow you to buy their songs from their site. I've heard of it, but I haven't done it myself. Can anyone else confirm that too?

Just some ideas to look into.

I can't say I don't much with threads.

I like this place for game music.

I did some more looking though...and it's just a place to download some songs. Not a source for a place to buy individual mp3s. I guess I've yet to find a good place to buy out of country music, short of just buying a whole CD. The way I look at it is....if I can't buy it in my own country, then I feel that I should be able to download it then. If there's no license attached to something, then so be it.

Does anyone else know of any place to buy music from? Without having to buy a whole CD?

You can also check out
http://www.hearjapan.com

They have a lots of songs from what i can see. You cant search for tracknames though (only for albums, artists and groups) but via Google its possible (searching for hearjapan.com + trackname). You can also buy single tracks without buying the whole CD, similar to iTunes.

iTunes doesnt really offer a solution, at least every time I search for something it doesnt find anything Neutral

I also recommend KHInsider (though the list always takes some time to load and quite a few tracks arent downloadable to PC, only to phone...)
